About us

The Chandanavana Film Critics Academy is a Not-for-Profit company, registered under Chapter 8 of the Companies Act, 1956, and established by Kannada film journalists and film critics with a passion for promoting excellence in entertainment. The Academy was founded by a group of distinguished film journalists, including Dr. Sharanu Hullur, S Shyam Prasad and S M Shashiprasad, with a vision to celebrate and reward the best in Kannada films. The organization is run by a team of dedicated professionals, including journalists, independent directors, and film industry experts, such as Sowmya Sidde Gowda, a banker, and Milind Dharmasena, a music composer. Since its inception in 2020, the Academy has held successful Annual Awards events, and continues to strive towards its mission of identifying and promoting excellence in Kannada entertainment.
